American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU): Youth Organizer
Reporting to the Organizing Director, the Youth Organizer leads the organization’s efforts to organize and empower youth through its INSPIRE San Diego youth civic engagement project and coordinates outreach to other youth communities throughout San Diego County. This includes coordinating the organization’s youth engagement and organizing work (INSPIRE San Diego).
- Coordinate program support from legal, policy, communications, organizing, and development staff in order to advance INSPIRE San Diego goals.
- Building and maintaining diverse and active INSPIRE San Diego youth teams at six San Diego County schools, developing youth leaders and activists to lead civic engagement and organizing projects at their schools and local communities, recruiting diverse youth to join the ACLU’s activist membership base.
- Mobilizing INSPIRE San Diego youth leaders to meet with public officials to promote local, state and national initiatives that protect civil right and liberties.
- Recruit, train and supervise youth organizing interns.
