Assistant Account Coordinator Public Relations (entry-level) – Mixte Communications, Inc.

Our assistant account coordinator will have at least six months of experience coordinating and supporting social media, email marketing, websites, grassroots marketing, writing and public relations. The perfect candidate will have relationships within San Diego’s social justice communities and have experience in geographic areas such as City Heights, communities south of I-8, Tijuana or other regions facing social justice challenges.


Write like a boss
*Build eblasts, newsletters and blogs in English and Spanish
*Manage and grow social media
*Draft media materials, including press releases, media alerts, op-eds, statements and pitches
*Craft messaging and talking points
*Write creatively, efficiently and with perfect grammar and AP style

Build strong relationships with media
*Track relevant news and identify media opportunities
*Manage media lists
*Pitching, pitching and more pitching
*Secure and coordinate placements
*Clip media and report for clients

Keep client accounts running smoothly
*Take notes in meetings and plan action steps
*Plan content calendar, track deadlines and keep tasks moving through the approval process
*Communicate with clients
*Support account lead with strategic planning and organizing

Required skills and knowledge:
* 6 months to 2 years experience
* Experience in public relations
* Independent worker
* Ability to multitask
* Efficiency in work pace
* Attention to details
* Agency experience is a MUST

* Bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Marketing or Advertising

Position is an hourly position
