Neighborhood Captains – Mid-City CAN

Mid-City CAN is excited to announce the launch of our civic engagement program this spring. The goal is to engage and inform our community about current issues. We will be canvassing and phone-banking registered voters.
Mid-City CAN is hiring ten Neighborhood Captains. If you or anyone you know is interested in applying for one of these positions, we would like to invite you to attend one of the information nights on
March 13th, 27th at 6:00 pm to learn more about how Mid-City CAN’s voter engagement program builds power in City Heights.
Our ideal candidates for this position:
Life Experience: Part of working class family, underrepresented communities, and/or residents of City Heights/Southeast San Diego.
Skills/Qualities: Patience, good communication and people skills, desire to learn, takes initiative, integrity, and commitment.
Attitude: Collaborative, outgoing, positive, selfless, giving, authentic, and helpfu
Knowledge: Awareness of issues that affect marginalized communities. Experience in organizing is a plus.
Qualifications: Physically able to walk 2.5 to 4 miles per day and able to read and write in English. Bi/multi-lingual is a plus.
