Job Announcement: Operations Manager
The Position/Role: CAIR’s (Council on American Islamic Relations) San Diego is looking for a passionate and talented individual to fill the Operations Manager position. Time Commitment: Full time, with periodic evenings and weekends required for meetings and events.
Location: San Diego, CA
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Manage day to day operations of the office, including supervising staff and interns
Oversee finance and human resources, including new hire process, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with federal and state policy
Establish and implement systems for organizational efficiency and growth
Provide logistical and strategic support to program development
Proofreads reports and written documentation
Implement and maintain paper and electronic record systems for office activities, programs and donors
Manage office equipment setup such as phones, copier, and projectors and coordinate IT needs
Order office supplies as well as track and maintain inventory
Produce reports for internal team meetings and board members
Recruiting, managing and engaging interns and volunteers.
Manage donor relations through maintaining donor database, processing donations,
issuing receipts, and following up on pledges
Manage fundraising campaigns and events, analyzing fundraising performance and
activities
Other duties as assigned.
All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, and other office tasks.
Required Qualifications:
A strong commitment to civil rights and CAIR’s mission
At least 3 years experienceyears’ experience in an administrative, operations, human
resources or similar role(s)
Highly motivated, self-initiating and energetic
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience with public speaking
Excellent oral and written communication and managerial skills to interface with media professionals, community leaders, volunteers, donors, and staff in a professional and effective manner.
Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office software
Must have capability to work on multiple projects or tasks at a time
Access to a working vehicle and the ability to drive throughout the San Diego County for events and outreach
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with non-profit organizations and Muslim community desired
Conversational proficiency in Arabic, Somali, Farsi or Urdu (preferred)
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Compensation commensurate with skills and experience
